In The Atlantic July/August 2008 Issue by Nicholas Carr it is stated that the way our brains operate has been greatly affected by the internet. The introduction of the internet has altered the way people think in that, prior to it, people were able to read lengthy books and articles which is not possible now since after a few pages now they are no longer able to concentrate any further. The fact that there is availability of a lot of information on Google which is presented in an entertaining way like funny videos and animations has been a huge contributor to lack of concentration in reading books and articles. The access of summarized information has led to people being lazy. There are some positive effects that the internet has brought about especially to researchers and writers. They are no longer required to read through many books when doing their research since all the information they require is easily available in Google.
