During the world war, women had different experiences on the American home front, for instance, racial segregation amongst individuals where blacks were isolated from whites. Additionally, a poor working environment was as well an experienced challenge. The harassment became a developed habit, especially from seniors and lack of safety gear that exposed them to injuries. Women handled dangerous machines, and despite the hard work and persistency, they experienced low pay. However, the process did not leave out gender inequality. Men devalued women and made them look inferior. During the war period, women served on hazardous roles alongside men, for example, nurses who came under artillery and aircraft fire on the frontline. They lacked social support from relatives and family, and others lacked skills to handle specific jobs. An embraced experience that kept women moving was the teamwork and team spirit
