One of the most favorable arguments in favor of the constitution is that it has the ability to establish a government that can control the violence and damage caused by factions. According to Madison, factions are a group of people that come together to protect their own economic interests and political opinions. However, these factors are at odds with one another since they work against the public interest. The factions formed do not concern themselves with the interest of the people and they only work towards protecting what they own (Schmidt et al. 126). The factions have special interests that puts them against another group of individuals. Factions can only be stopped by the use of two ways which include removing its causes or controlling the effect that it has on the society. The problem with the first origin is that factions are basically from the opinions on people concerning different issues. It is clear that one cannot get into another ones’ mind and take their opinions away. In addition, the people have had enough of the political rivalry that exists and the impacts that it has on them. Therefore, they tend to resolve to government for their help, where they find it even harder. Indeed, the latent causes of these factions are wholly rooted in the desires of man.
