Hindu Religion in General and its Origin (Essay Sample)
THE PAPER IS ABOUT THE HINDU RELIGION IN GENERAL AND ITS ORIGIN
source..Introduction
Most people do not understand what Hinduism is all about. This research paper will try to establish the true nature of the Hindu religion, the cultural and societal influences that have made this religion vital to the region and lastly explain the desire for liberation from early existence.
Origin
The first people of the Hindu religion were referred to as the Vedas (Sanskrit, knowledge) which constitute the largest population of the Hindu religion (Narayanan, 2010). Hinduism is the oldest religion in the world and its origin goes back to the pre-historic era which shaped the incorporation of ideas by two antique cultures, the Indus valley and the Aryans (Sinha, 2008). The residents of the Indus formed the original Indian population. Many believed that Aryans migrated into India from central Asia around 2000 BC, some of whom went to Iran, which explains the close affection among the Iranian religion of Avesta and the Vedic religion (Sinha 2008).
The Hindu religion does not have a particular founder, or prophet accredited as fundamental to the religion and they do not have any holy book (Narayanan, 2010). There is no specific year for the beginning of the Hindu religion (Narayanan, 2010).
Cultural and Societal influence
The great cultural mixture of the Indian community is shown in the huge number of the language they speak, variety of beliefs and how they dress (Hagget, 2002) .Although it has some exceptional cultural complexity it has some merits in the form of unifying features such as the caste system (Hagget, 2002). The caste system although not used so much in this day and age was a successful technique in making sure that people lived in harmony. It was an accomplishment as people lived in peace.
There is a wide variety of practices of the Hindu community but this does not affect much as there is unity in its concepts and this is why it is known as the “unity of diversity” Sinha, 2008). This rich tradition plays a vital role in ensuring that Hinduism is one of the unique religions.
The greatest strength of this religion is the way in which the religion can put together the many beliefs and practices of its people in such a way that the country can maintain being historical as it used to be (Hagget, 2002).
India has a great tradition and this is the nation’s greatest riches, this is apparent in the way in which India allows the Muslim of Pakistan to live in peace in their own country but the Pakistan’s make it difficult for Hindus to stay in their country in peace.
