Introduction
Human Suffering
Human suffering in the world is used by atheists and critics of religions to argue the point that God does not exist. Although it is difficult to identify the main reason why believers suffer, the monotheistic religious texts try to give meaning to the suffering. Both Christians and Muslims have different views with regard to human suffering in the world. According to Malki, human suffering can only be explained using different theological perspectives (par.1). Most people without proper religious background connect human suffering to evil. Human suffering comes in different forms including sickness, loss of property among other tragedies. When undergoing a given problem, many human beings to either draw near to God for redemption or draw away from God blaming for the suffering (Koslowski 2). However, regardless of the reaction of a suffering person, human suffering makes people to mostly view God as either the cause or the savior.
This paper examines the reason for evil for suffering in the world despite the teachings held by monotheistic religions that God is a God of love and compassion.
