Summary
The COVID 19 pandemic has disrupted the flow of education in many parts of the world. The purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of eLearning in UAE schools during the corona outbreak period. The research also seeks to determine ways through which eLearning effectiveness can be achieved. Some of the methods explored for improving eLearning effectiveness include the replacement of fully online education with blended learning, the use of both synchronous and asynchronous learning, the incorporation of gamification in eLearning, and the utilization of audiovisual effects to enhance the digital learning experience. The study was conducted between students in a university environment. The authors used a non-probability sampling technique to select the study participants. A questionnaire was used to collect the respondents' perspectives regarding the effectiveness of eLearning in UAE higher learning institutions. The questionnaire was conveyed to the participants in person and through social media platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp. The analysis of the data was done through a review of the leading research themes. The findings indicate that students prefer blended learning to eLearning. The students also mentioned that gamification, synchronous and asynchronous learning, and audiovisual materials could improve the effectiveness of eLearning. Therefore, the UAE government is recommended to adopt blended learning after the COVID 19 pandemic.
