Findings and Implications of the Verweij Study
Errors in the medical administration field are among the precarious core issues that have been inhibiting the efficiency of medications in the contemporary world. Therefore, therapeutic endeavors should incorporate medical tabards meant to minimize the interruptions that may face the physicians at work. Furthermore, the tabards are speculated to have the capacity to reduce interruptions as well as the errors resulting from the interruptions. As such, the research is executed to measure the efficiency of the approach towards addressing the predicament. The study further deploys the observation technique to determine some of the efforts to be integrated into countering healthcare administration difficulties by the use of visible signage tabards. Besides, the research also used the sampling technique where a few practitioners were used to represent the entire population. In the rear, the study employed the interviewing technique to make clarifications on some of the unclear observed aspects.
Limitations of the Study
Among the study’s limitations is that it only touched on the use of the tabards as the only approach to reducing the errors. The nurses, in this case, may be uncomfortable with the utilization of the method and hence it would be advisable to incorporate other techniques in the study such as the computerization of drug administration to minimize errors. On the other hand, the research only used a few data collection methods, with observation as the primary approach. Concurrently, observation is known to have many drawbacks. for instance, the nurses could decide to act differently on the realization that they are under surveillance. A questionnaire technique could have been more efficient for the activity as it could have assisted in the collection of more viable data.
Implications of the Study
Notably, some of the consequences associated with the deployment of tabards in medical endeavors are that there would be reduced verbal interactions from the colleagues in the administration of drugs. Despite the fact that the aspect cannot be 100% guaranteed, it is also beyond reasonable doubts that in the event where a physician follows the guidelines provided in the tabards, there would be a high likelihood for positive results. On the other hand, getting used to the signal could make the therapists ignorant to the guidelines and hence leading to undesirable results. It is, therefore, necessary for these practitioners to possess a high degree of discipline.
Besides, the personal perception will also command a substantial role in determining the success or failure of the technique. For instance, in a scenario where the tabards are enforced against the will of the physicians, some of them may depict a negative performance due to their reasons. As such, this is a negative implication of the tabards. However, if used on those comfortable with the move, then it could be convenient in addressing the intended predicament.
Nevertheless, it is evident that the tabard could be of insignificant aid in the minimization of interruptions on several oc...
