Modern healthcare practices have significantly changed due to the intervention of informatics. Though nursing role remains unchanged, informatics is playing a role particularly in the accuracy of data and communication of patients care (McNeil & Odom, 2016). Personally, I use informatics in my nursing practices in various ways.
One of the way that I use informatics in my nursing practice is coordination of care services. While at work, I always use informatics to relay information from billing, physician, pharmacy, therapists in the process of care and even discharge. Relaying the information from different departments helps to improve patient care (Goodman & Miller, 2017). It helps me to ensure that every stakeholder gets real information about the patient while taking care of them as they get information on time. Therefore, I use the informatics in the coordination of the care service by sending the information to other departments on time.
