Abstract
Mental health issues are becoming increasingly common among medical students. A number of personality traits have been linked to the development of stress-induced mental illness. Student psychiatrists hypothesised that certain personality traits were related to better mental health. According to this study, 251 medical students who will attending school for one year will used for data collection. Depressive symptoms will assessed using PHQ-8, whereas suicidal thoughts will be assessed using PHQ-9 (PHQ-9). Personality qualities will be assessed using the Business-Focused Inventory of Six Factors (BIP-6F). Personality traits relate to one's job had a positive correlation with one's overall well-being. Results will be generated using ORs with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Students with suicidal thoughts will be shown to be less stable after adjusting for all relevant factors and stability itself (OR: 0.19, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.09–0.42). With an effect size of 0.01, there will be a statistically significant link between Dominance and depression symptoms (OR: 2.46, 95% CI 1.22–4.97). It is imperative that medical students receive stress management and mental health counseling as part of their training at various points in their careers.
