1 Introduction
Organizations that emerge at about the same capacity may ultimately take distinct courses that influence their durability, based on administration, design, culture, and overall susceptibility to environmental and social changes. At the same time, businesses differ in foundational architecture, which affects their long-term success and market dominance. As a result, a company's management must take a rigorous attitude to its business practices to maintain its longevity in a bid to prevent going out of business (Wu & Gereffi, 2018). Apple and Nokia are two companies that represent such a particular circumstance. The two companies’ culture, communications model, styles of leadership, and corporate strategy vision criteria, including recruiting and talent attraction are some of the areas where the multinational organizations differ. Focusing on these two tech giants, this essay evaluates both firms’ organizational structure and communication styles, and the HR strategic plans by analyzing their leadership styles, as it proceeds to evaluate differences in talent attraction.
2 Human Resource Strategies and Talent Attraction
The competition between Apple and Nokia, arguably the biggest technology companies in the world, initially aimed to determine which company is more innovative. Regarded as a legend for his hard work and performance, Steve Jobs was famous for trumping this rivalry with Michael Dell to become one of the most entrepreneurial CEOs of all time. While Apple’s virtuous cycle comes from attracting talent and retaining it, Nokia’s vicious cycle forces it to lose employees.
