The Role of Technology in Emotional and Mental Status Testing
Technology plays a vital role in determining presence, effect and extent of mental problem among suspected patients. Mobile applications have been used to diagnose mental problems, courtesy of the improved knowledge in Information Communication Technology, (Grover et al., 2018). The virtual realities are slowly gaining popularity in the psychological occupational therapist dealing with mental problems.
Physicians are encouraging the use of technology in effective assessment and outcome monitoring through technology. They cite this process as efficient. Reliable accurate and confidential while interacting with suspected patients Grover et al., 2018). Therefore, this paper discusses the roles of technology in emotional and mental testing, and challenges encountered in the process with regard to computer interpretation of the collected data.
Computers are human machine interface that helps in data collection, processing and storage. Moreover, the information fed into a computer system’s can be retrieved for future references. Integration of computers in healthcare system has improved the accuracy in mental and emotional related studies. The data relating to patient is cab be collected through Electronic Health Records (EHRs). The gadgets assist in information processing, sharing and storage in a healthcare unit (Grover et al., 2018). The mentally ill patients can be monitored easily by studying their records in the EHRs. Unlike traditional data collection methods, mobile and computers technologies are not limited to the biasness form the patient’s oral reports.
