Each and every organization depends on people to operate. For a task or product to be finished, many activities and process are combined and it requires a certain level of coordination and control to make sure a smooth continuous of activities. With employees being at the center of the organizational performance it is no doubt that employees controlling is a very important factor in people management. It is however very challenging to come up with a better organizational control strategy that could help in controlling employees without sounding like you are micromanaging your employees. This is due to the fact that employees as human beings have emotions and they need to be treated with fairness and respect. This paper is therefore aimed at discussing the extent to which employees control in organizations can help in maximizing the organizational productivity and efficiency taking into consideration different areas of an organizational employee management.
In the study entitled “The Role of Organizational Control Systems in Employees’ Organizational Trust and Performance Outcomes”, (Robert M et al. 179) emphasized that the study on how employees should be guided and stimulated should be done by examining the role different practices of human resources management of the organization. The term organizational control in human resources management can be referred to as a set of rules, protocols, procedures as well as limits and guidelines developed by the organization to direct the processes and work of employees in all departments of the organization. In line with the study by Robert and Verburg, there is a question of knowing what the current different organizational approach to employees control systems and how their critics.
