Parenting and Bullying
Bullying has affected almost everyone around the world, some being the perpetrators, while others are the victims of bullying. A person can experience bullying in any social setting, but the people who are affected most by bullying are the children at school. However, most of the bullying in schools arise from the parenting styles the kids are getting from their homes. Even though many people have not realized it, bad forms of parenting can result in children being bullies or become victims of bullying in schools.
Some parenting styles result in children becoming bullies at school. One of such parenting style is authoritarian parenting. The parents who use this style are most likely harsh to their kids (Georgiou et al. 228). Children from under such type of parenting are treated harshly by their parents, and as a result may become cruel to other kids away from home (Georgiou et al. 229). Hence, due to their tendency of these children being harsh, they are more likely to become bullies at school.
