Introduction
The church is a key pillar in the life of Christians. For any Christian, the church is a place for spiritual nourishment and guidance. In fact, the church is seen as the true reflection of heaven. Over the years, the understanding of the church has evolved significantly. It is important to note that the church can be explored from the theological or sociological perspectives. Interestingly, most people ascribe to the sociological understanding of the church and neglect the theological perspective. This move has led to the society misunderstands the true meaning of the church. Currently, people perceive the church as a physical building. However, this view is not the true depiction of Christ church. In reality, the church is more than the buildings and has a deep spiritual meaning and connection to Christ. Consequently, the church is a community instituted by God to acknowledge the lordship of Christ in the word, in witness, in services and through the power of the Holy Spirit to collaborate with Jesus’ historic mission for the sake of Kingdom of God.
