Introduction
In the heart of every human being, there is a longing to believe in a divine power that resides outside the universe. Religion has been an essential part of humanity's culture for ages. Even though it is not certain when and where the religious beliefs originated from, anthropologists confirm that every society subscribes to a specific religion. There are thousands of religions across the world but there are seven main religious affiliations that are well represented globally Hinduism being one them. Consequently, every religion is based on a philosophy that dictates the application of the spiritual laws meant to guide its believers. It is important to note that religion is only important to the one who believes in its spiritual specifications.
Hinduism is one of the oldest religions in the world whose origin can be dated to approximately 4000 years ago. Currently, it has around 900 million believers globally and is the third leading religion after Islam and Christianity. Even though 95 percent of Hindus hail from India and the surrounding regions in the South Asia continent, Hinduism has believers in almost all countries in the world (Inbadas 325). Compared to other religions, Hinduism is peculiar because it comprises several but diverse systems of philosophy and rituals. However, this does not mean that it has varying beliefs but multiple theories to support these beliefs.
