Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) can be used in identifying viral diseases such as COVID-19. Despite its low mobile hydrogen, the existence of lung fluids can enable the detection of ground -glass opacities phenomenon (GGO). Typically, GGO is a non-specific appearance on the CT scans that fail to obscure the bronchial structures leading to partial filing of air spaces. According to the guidelines published by the Chinese government, the diagnosis of COVID-19 must be confirmed by the reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) or gene sequencing for the respiratory or blood [2]. MRI on the other hand can be used in determination of gene sequencing. Additionally, MRI can be used in assessing viral diseases due to its strong structural resolution. This allows for identifying of advanced diseases including those related to inflammations and infections.
