Introduction
Bedsores or pressure ulcers is an injury that affects human skin or underlying tissues. Bedsores occur when the affected part of the skin exposes to high pressure for a long time. Bedsores damages skin tissues resulting in a painful open sore or a blister. Bedsores can affect patients who lie in bed for a long time or even those who stay in the wheelchair for a long time. If the patient does not turn for a long time, the part of the skin attached to the bed can be affected by bedsores. Healthcare facilities should protect all patients from bedsores. Nurses should provide quality care to patients. If a healthcare facility has a high number of inpatients, the management should ensure the nurses provide patients-centered services.
