1.A ban on alcohol marketing is a welcome idea since it will limit young people's exposure to alcohol advertising.
Studies show that the earlier young people are exposed to alcohol, either physically, or through adverts, they start drinking earlier. Advertising not only influences brand choice but also tempts non-consumers into trying it.
2. Alcohol is not an ordinary product, and the problems related to it are significant irritants to health and well-being, which justifies a ban on alcohol advertising.
The problem here is that alcohol is considered toxic, and therefore commercials serve to promote something bad for our health.
The alcohol industry underestimates the societal impacts of alcohol consumption and only blames it on the minority they accuse of misusing their products.
3.Alcohol advertisements increase young people's drinking
Alcohol adverts recruit more young people into drinking since the industry cannot survive without new drinkers.
The adverts contain subtle images and clever messages that worryingly appeal to young people, thus influencing them into drinking.
The alcohol adverts never show people drinking and having a good time. All images show people drinking and having a good time socializing, laughing, and enjoying themselves. Such images do not represent the reality of the impact of alcohol and are therefore misleading.
Besides, they influence the behavior of young people and approve the drinking of alcohol in a wide range of settings.
