Summers & Holm (2009) defined an entrepreneurial team as two or more interdependent individuals interacting to achieve a common goal. Individuals in a team are supposed to have complementary capabilities, be committed and responsible to a common objective.
Different types of groups include single type, workforce and social roles. According to Campbell (2012) role type groups are based on the relationship of individuals and their instruments and interests.
Work force group is based on the relationship of individuals with their roles while single type is based on the inter-personal relations. Social networks are therefore an important component of an entrepreneurial team because they create a positive impact on the team’s innovation capabilities. For my entrepreneurial team, I would choose the single type group to ensure that intra-personal relationship are created between team members and the target people.
Recruiting members of the team
Recruitment is the process of discovering the manpower needed to meet the staffing requirements. There are two sources recruitment, that is, internal and external sources.
Internal sources
Internal recruitment occurs when a vacant position is filled with a candidate from amongst the employees either through promotion, demotion or transfer. The right candidate in this case can be obtained through the following methods; job posting, appraisal records and informal search from the executives.
Job postings
This involves creating a list describing a job opening in an organization. According to the entrepreneurial plan, the outreach program is intending to use the already established health care facilities in increasing awareness of preventable chronic illness to the communities through provision of information and tools needed for care when and where they need it. Job posting will therefore ensure that interested persons are aware of a job opening in the program.
Appraisal records and informal search from executives
Executives of the team will also assist in the recruitment process through informal search and examining of appraisal records of the existing team members in order to determine the most suitable and qualified candidate for a job. This will enhance loyalty of team members as well as reducing the induction cost.
External sources
This involves filling a vacant position in the team with a candidate from outside the team. External sources may include: advertisement through the media, employment bureaus and through walk institutions from college and school referrals.
In the case of my entrepreneurial plan I would use advertisement through the media as my external recruitment source because it will ensure that the information about the existence of the program will not only go to the job seekers, but also to the whole community who need to be sensitized about the program and its benefits.

The Chief Executive Officer is a key position in the team as he or she determines the team’s strategy. CEOs are the one responsible in hiring and building the senior members of the team as well as making the final call on how resources are divided.
