Roles of RWJFC
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Committee (RWJFC) and the Institute of Medicine (IOM) published the report entitled “The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health.” RWJFC holds significant responsibilities that promote the quality of health. As such, the primary objective of this initiative was to transform the medical sector in the United States of America (USA). Indeed, it generated a blueprint of the recommendations that would promote nursing in the future. Besides, Congress, through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) came up with the initiative to ensure that proper changes were made in the healthcare system. RWJFCI also makes sure that diverse populations in the USA receive quality medical services (RWJFC & Institute of Medicine, 2011). On that note, a stakeholders in the healthcare industry, the committee believes that it is critical to improving the responsibilities of nurses. The IOM and the committee wanted to ensure that healthcare industry focus on prevention and quality care since they are the major drivers of this sector. That is the reason why they prioritize interpersonal collaboration, coordination, and quality and affordable care. RWJFCI believes that the only way to transform the healthcare system is by involving caregivers and other health professionals so that they can work together to improve service delivery.
