American is Safeguarded from All Forms of Disasters (Term Paper Sample)
DescriptionDatabase Marketing
This week you will obtain information on database marketing to support the Marketing Mix section of your Final Project. As discussed in Chapter 10 of the course text, database marketing centers on gathering customer-based information such as gender, age, occupation, and lifestyle. As an example, to better understand the wants and needs of patients and their families, the Happy Valley marketing director monitors activities on the long-term care center’s web page. Data is collected regarding specific links viewed such as activities, skilled care services offered, and physical therapy. If a certain link is viewed more than other links, this could indicate to the marketing director that potential patients and their family members prefer specific amenities or services. Those amenities or services would then be marketed as a priority for the organization. Considering the marketing plan for your chosen healthcare organization, construct a three- to four-page paper in which you: Describe your understanding of database marketing and how it could potentially be applied to your marketing plan for the Final Project.
Discuss the benefits and drawbacks of using database marketing.
State the ethical, legal, and HIPAA issues that need to be considered.
Articulate reasons why you would implement or exclude the use of database marketing in your marketing plan for the Final Project.
American is Safeguarded from All Forms of Disasters
Since its inception, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been undergoing changes aimed at ensuring the safety of every American as well as America at large. Immediately after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, DHS was formed as part of the major security organizations aimed at protecting America against any terrorist attacks. Initially, it was made up of Homeland security only, but over the years the organization contains 22 agencies. Among these agencies are the United States Customs and Border Protections (CBP), United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the Transport Security Administration (TSA) among others. All these organizations work hand in hand to ensure that the borders of the United States are impenetrable as well as safe from any terrorist or similar attacks.
Over the last several years, DHS has formed numerous organizations which aim at improving the level of security in America. So many state and major fusion centers have been formed as a result of technical assistance connectivity to other federal systems, grant funding, and security clearances (Department of Homeland Security, 2020). Besides these, there is an initiative known as the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative whose core mission is to train different local and state enforcement in awareness of any behaviors and indicators that are connected to terrorism, threats, and crime (United States Government Accountability Office, 2017). The DHS has also been able to source grant funding to sustain its preparedness to prevent, manage, and respond to issues related to terrorism. The DHS has tried its best in ensuring that security covers every individual.
Since its inception, DHS has improved and changed its core mission in a bid to ensure that it meets the varying security requirements of America at large. Initially, the organization only focused on ensuring that America is free from any terrorist attack within its borders. However, this core mission appeared technical as it was impossible to deal with terrorism without touching on issues such as immigration, drug peddling, natural and man-made disasters, as well as transportation (United States Government Accountability Office, 2017). After the occurrence of Hurricane Katrina, DHS expanded its core mission to deal with responses to disasters. Under this, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) was developed to deal with the management and responses to man-made and natural disasters. As events kept unfolding, other organizations such as the Central Intelligence Agency became part of these changes. This transformation was aimed at ensuring that every American is safeguarded from all forms of disasters.
