Type 2 diabetes is a metabolic health complication characterized by the inability of the body to use insulin properly thus causing the body to experience increased blood glucose level. On the contrary, type 1 diabetes mellitus is the situation whereby the body is unable to produce insulin. Recently, reports have suggested that there exists a great health disparity in terms of prevalence of diabetes among the Hispanics in the United States.
