In the day to day activities managers, practitioners find themselves overwhelmed by the complexity of managerial work activities they encounter on their actions. For many, it's a natural activity which cannot be substituted by exogenous learning. However such events from the majority are acquired through experience, working from one firm to another, an encounter with different skills and people in the course of the business. On early days project managers had to think and practice their skills to build monuments and biblical narratives. The authors said that the breaking of portfolios could be a better way of managing projects but the practice ignores the relationship between the parts.
