The aforementioned assertions stand supported by a 2014 report on the connection between workplace diversity and a company's financial performance. The report "Why Diversity Matters" stands as an analysis of 366 international organizations (including the U.S. agencies) where diversity remains a top priority. The data collected disclosed a statistically significant association between diversity and financial performance, with organizations in the top quartile for gender diversity 15% more likely to have financial returns above their national industry median and organizations in the top quartile for racial/ethnic diversity 30% more likely to have financial returns above their national industry median (Hunt, Layton, & Prince, 2015).
