Statement of Professional Goals
One of my professional goals is to be a competent nurse. Competence means the ability to not only treat patients but also offer advisory assistance that the patients may need. This program offers a broad range of knowledge ranging from health promotion, disease prevention, and human diversity. These concepts will give me the right knowledge base to meet this professional goal.
I have always wanted a profession that is both rewarding and fulfilling. This program will give me skills to research, come up with new solutions to existing problems in nursing. This is what makes a fulfilling career for me. The course covers areas such as evidence-based practice as well as the theoretical foundations of nursing.
Finally, I want to advance my professional knowledge as a nurse. The course will assist me learn ethical-legal guidelines, professional policies and regulations as well as nursing ethics among others. A summation of this knowledge will give me a vast knowledge base in the nursing profession.
The reasons behind pursuing MSN
A master’s degree is required for advanced practice nursing. Since I want to specialize as a nurse practitioner, the MSN program is inevitable. In addition, the program will give me extra skills such as leadership skills that will enable me to advance my status as a nursing professional.
I want to take MSN so that I can contribute to meeting the acute demand for health primary care physicians. There is also an acute shortage of nurse educators. Hence, I want to contribute to solving the shortage of nursing practitioner’s.
Nurse practitioners are among the most highly paid practitioners. I believe that undertaking MSN will not only fulfill my professional goals but will also help me meet my personal financial obligations adequately.
