Ethics in Nursing
The standards of behavior that individuals ought to adhere to depending on situations they find themselves in are referred to as ethics. Contrary to what many believe, ethics is not adherence to the law, nor is it religion, feelings, science, or sticking to cultural norms. Ethical standards are derived from the Rights, Justice, Virtue, Common Good, and Utilitarian Approach. A combination of the approaches helps people determine whether an act is ethical. This paper will use ethical principles to analyze the actions a nurse should take on a colleague who is attending to patients when under the influence of alcohol.
