Breakfast
1 cup sugar-frosted flake cereal –Mr. Brown has been advised on cutting down added sugars. The food consists of sugar-coated corn flakes. Therefore, this should be the first meal that he should remove from the diet because it contains a lot of added sugars. Instead, he should consider adding whole-grain toast, which is an outstanding fiber source.
8 oz 1% milk
8 oz orange juice
2 scrambled eggs
Snack-All snacks contain added sugars; thus, this is not the best food to include in the diet. Instead, Mr. Brown should add seeds and nuts to the diet.
1/2 peanut butter and jelly sandwich (1 slice white bread, 1 TBSP Skippy peanut butter, 1 TBSP grape jelly)
Lunch
8 oz tomato soup
6 Saltine crackers
Snack-Again most snacks have added sugars, and it is difficult to know whether Mr. Brown will choose a healthy snack or a non-health one. As such, this should not be part of the diet. The goal is cutting down on added sugars and increasing fiber intake thus, Mr. Brown should instead replace this with brown rice, which has fiber content.
