Organizational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) is a body established in 1970 whose main aim is to provide every employee in the United States a good and safe working environment and to work in a healthy environment. OSHA, therefore, provides detailed and complete instructions which are enforced by directors and other OSHA operators. Failure to follow these instructions calls for penalties. OSHA provides safety to a wide variety of employees. However, the main ones include; people under self-employment, firms which employ family members and some federal agencies and statutes. Some of the main health hazards dealt with by OSHA are drug addiction, stress, alcoholism and emotional illness, which may affect the effectiveness of the organization. However, they can be dealt with through techniques such as disciplining, in-house counseling, discharge, and referrals to an agency. Therefore, under the labor department, OSHA provides health and safety standards to all workers to create a comfortable working environment, aiming at improving efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity in organizations.
