This article qualifies to be a research paper because it adopts a systematic and scientific inquiry to assess and determine whether the clinical practice in children asthma management from various documents are in consensus and points towards the same fundamental principles (Papadopoulos, et al. 2012). In other words, the article falls under the classification of a research paper since it conducts investigations that leads to specific discoveries in the conclusion. For instance,after the inquiries, the article established that millions of children around the world continue to receive suboptimal asthma control due to suboptimal management and treatment despite the increase in pediatric asthma awareness and significant improvements in the understanding aspects of pediatric asthma.
Like in any other research paper, the authors included a comprehensive literature review that answers the identified research questions. Lastly, the paper employs a qualitative study method that explores relationships between improvement in asthma control and awareness vis-a-vis prevalence of the disease among children. The qualitative study allows the exploration of life experiences to give them meaning in the medical context.
