Nurses play an important role of advocating for healthcare reforms, by demanding for patient-centered, quality, safe, affordable and accessible care. The essay discusses the role of nurses in healthcare settings. While nurses make important contributions concerning disease prevention and wellness, they also educate patients about social or environmental factors that trigger preventable diseases. According to Salmond and Echevarria (2017), nurses educate patients how to enhance wellness.
