Nursing Metaparadigm
Metaparadigm concepts consist of the main issues within a discipline. In nursing, the phenomenon refers to a group of ideas that offer a framework on how professional nurses operate (Bender, 2018). The model is applicable in the healthcare setting as a general statement used in defining essential aspects of quality care. The framework provides Registered Nurses (RNs) with the ability to develop more realistic and conceptual models for effective patient-centered care delivery (Nikfarid et al., 2018). The nursing profession revolves around four crucial components associated with metaparadigm, which promotes a patient’s well-being. Notably, they are of central interest because they play a significant role in understanding disease management initiation and facilitation. Although there are various models, only four main interrelated paradigms, including the person, environment, health, and nursing, contribute to improved healthcare (Nikfarid et al., 2018). The four metaparadigms are essential towards integrating effective strategies that enhance the quality of RN’s services based on their positive correlations with notable nursing models such as interpersonal relations, environmental, behavioral, and self-care deficit theories.
