Driving through our community made me realize some of the essential elements that make a community. A community is made up of a group of people living in a specific location. Also, people in a community have a strong sense of belonging and are permanently residing in a definite territory. In other words, a community is made up of a large group of people who are united through a common interest, location, and characteristic. The emotional identification of the members distinguishes them from members of other communities. Community is also defined based on similarity because people living in a specific region have similar cultures, languages, and customs. It is also marked by a total organized life and has a particular name.

According to my school of thought, there are various major health-related problems in the community. Obesity is a huge health concern in our community because it affects many people. This is caused by unhealthy eating habits and lack of adequate exercise. Another major health-related problem is mental health and substance abuse. Substance abuse and mental health cause a wide range of physical illnesses among community members.

The community assets play an essential role because it helps improve the quality of life in the community. Some of our community's valuable assets include a hospital, school, church, library, and recreation center. Open space and a park are also essential community asset because it strengthens the community, makes the community attractive, and improves the members' psychological and physical health o the members (Sherer, 2006). These assets can be leveraged to promote the health and well-being o community members and promote social inclusion.
