Introduction
Ventilator Acquired Pneumonia (VAP) is one of the key hospital related conditions that affect mostly the people in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) (Cooper & Haut, 2013). For instance, the prolonged stay in intensive care units has been a significant accelerator to the VAP. Both the infants and adults are profoundly affected by the existence of an environment in the ventilator. The upcoming issues relating to the VAP condition are related to the care and response needed to sustain the patients under care in the hospitals. The impacts of the VAP include the increasing costs, dangers to life, and prolonged stay of patients within the healthcare settings. The evidence-based practice by nursing professionals may be applied in dealing with issues affecting the individuals exposed to the ventilated conditions. The ventilator bundle and care are some of the initiatives that have been developed in helping the patients that are exposed to the environmental based pneumonia.
